We just have a different mentality than Nihilum, we don't think a new member has to prove they're worth. If an item drops and it's they're main and they need it they get it. Even if they're a day one member. We aren't mad if someone gears up and leaves, we look at it as they put they're time in and they earned those items.

Our guildleader doesn't expect the members to be grateful for attending raids and having a chance at loot. Gongshow thanks the members for attending raids. It's something you can't really quantify in pixels or gains, and someone who just wants to raid for selfish ends wouldn't get it.

If any of that changed in Holocaust if it one day did become Nihilum in ideology that would be the day I disband. I'm not like you I won't support something simply because it's good for me when it's bad for everyone else.
Part of the attraction to EQ for pixel smaugs is the exclusivity of items, if not EQ would be WoW. I think that might change for Velious, but who knows.. I don't think anybody wants to give key pixels to people who aren't fully invested or committed to a guild. I was in Nilly for 3 years and I never saw an item of non relevance rot (ie planar drops)

Actually the only one I do specifically remember is the Xygoz spear for Shaman's that poofed on Vayden, a week later he quit. Everybody runs guilds differently and in their own way, but you have to adjust to the timelime for these expansions and pick your battles.

I think the biggest difference between p99 and live, beyond pop/timeline, was that being in an end game guild was actually "elite." You had to app for an extended period of time, know your class, perform well, have a certain RA %, not be a complete douchebag, etc. There was usually a guild charter, votes on members, written rules. Being part of the guild felt like something. Here it's just, "hey u wanna join the end game guild? kool, welcum aboard croot"

Also have to remember that a lot of people had a lot more time to waste on a video game fifteen years ago. Everyone on this server is from the most elite guild of their respective servers though.

I'm glad the Nihilum run is over. The server was never going to grow with Nihilum running the show. I felt Azrael was even worse and that proved to be true. Holocaust is doing a good job, but it just ain't my thing the way it's built. I'd love a RZ like setup with 5+ 20 man guilds making alliances and shit for raid mobs but it's a pipe dream...so now I'm just a FQer.
