It is pretty interesting to see the replies here. A lot of people seem to have suffered from the 'couldn't find my corpse, so i rerolled' syndrome.

My first character was a halfling druid named Naennil that took me probably 2 weeks to level up to level 4. I had a very terrible graphics card and dial up internet, and I basically had to fight right next to guards because if something ran I was hopeless to catch it.

I was killing a snake of some sort in Misty Thicket and it turned it's tail and fled. I tried to follow it but it quickly outpaced me due to my terrible setup. Next thing I know I'm dead and zoning back into Misty Thicket.

Cue me trying to find my corpse for hours. Couldn't find it - devastating because I had had some gold, spells, and some bags. I rerolled into another halfling druid - Amaruq, who became my main for some time. I figured it would be better to start off naked at level 1 rather than be naked at level 4. child logic is hard.

Looks like we were all just a bunch of dumb kids.

Glad we all matured in to such fine neckbeards.

When I first started playing EQ, my first character was a half elf war and I started in Freeport. Died at lvl 15 in some desert area, had no idea how to get back to it from Freeport. My corpse almost rotted in Nro coz I didn't know zones.

Autorun across OT while reading on another comp a long time ago. I got the sensation I was falling cause my rogue fell to her death in the chasm.

My biggest was borrowing my brother's lvl ~52 necro determined to solo AoF in CT to get RS BP for my rogue on live ~mid 2000. I never played a necro but managed to FD in, break the room, kill the AoF, left click and drop the luscious ravenscale BP to autoequip/bag, gate out.
..only to find no room in inventory, item was dropped on the ground.

made a wrong turn into lesser faydark on my way to turn in CB belts. Met by a brownie scout on the trail to "Kaladim" or so I thought - 4 shots down lvl 14 back to 13. Also didnt realize it was lower faydark on corpse run and got killed a 2nd time. Finally realizing I've never seen a brownie scout in Butcherblock Mountains, I evaded my way back to my corpse to drag to a safe location. Will check the wiki maps in the future [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Lesson learned!

(I haven't read all 14 pages, so Im sure there is a similar story)

Got to level 14 or so, first character so no gold, good items, etc. A cleric randomly came up and gave me a weapon and it was LOADS better than what I had equipped. I equipped it and sold my weapon for GP. Logged out for the night and when I logged back in it was gone and took me a while to figure out that it was a Summoned weapon and you couldn't keep it once you logged out.

Back on live i played on one the race war servers and had a DE warrior (pre-kunark) - I never really traveled far but heard aviaks were amazing experience so I headed to the arena to bind but had to travel through rathe mountains. I didn't know the way so asked a guy who told me to go straight but hug the right wall prompting me to take a right at the first intersection and get lost there for 4-5 hours scared shitless as everything was KOS and red to me. This was before the days of EQAtlas I think, or at least my awareness of it.

Oh, and of course dying swimming with every new character I make (including when I first joined p1999 recently)
