On a more serious note. It's always more complicated then the addiction it self. People with addictive personalities have addictions to deal with issues they won't face. IMO addictive personality disorders are the worst most destructive disorders of humankind. Seek halp from a genuine medical professional.

Their advice might be for you to just save yourself. You cannot save other people from their own self destructive behavior.
