Can someone explain to me how RMTing to people in your own guild as opposed to the alternative of just giving that loot away to people in the guild is going to effect the server in any crazy dramatic way? Would that gear have magically not been in Nihilum's hands still?

I think people are conflating their hate for unduly content control and hording of every important world mob with the nearly inconsequential infractions (as far as the server dynamic is concerned) made by the leader of Nihilum. This idea of "RMT scheme" hardly, if at all, effects the server despite its veracity or falsehood.

Far more damaging to the server (which many people were vocal about within the guild) was Nizzar's over zealous attitude toward killing-every-mob-and-killing-it-now-on-the-spot-it-cannot-wait. Still, that wasn't illegal. It definitely had an indirect effect on the server, though.

All of you sound really unintelligent when you fumble with the ways in which Nihilum was "bad." It doesn't mean I don't agree or disagree with you about any of it, it's just a general awareness thing.

GM's care about RMT not for the reasons this community does. From a fundamental standpoint, RMT actually creates more population. People that would otherwise quit are selling shit to someone new or old, keeping them more or less immersed. Now, did they earn it? Fuck no. But that isn't necessarily harmful.

There's a reason illegal, covert payment and rewards in college, high school, or Olympic sports is a serious crime. The playing field is ostensibly propelled by the sport itself, not monetary or ulterior gain. If one college team can pay it's team salaries, while the others are playing just to play the game, you think that doesn't change things?

I will not play in a world without skeletons, that is a clear terrorist victory.
