It varies all the time.

In this case Trendy was also on a CR (which I'm sure he failed to mention to the porter).

"It's a pain" isn't the response he should of gotten. More along the lines of, "Usually people will take a port the second a wizard/druid drops into KC when I'm on the way to you". For the month that I ported people around, I would let people know this on KC pickups.

Hmmm....I am a member of <Dial a Port>. When someone asks me for an EJ evac and I am not bound in KC, my standard reply is

"Its a pain to run to KC, but I will do it if you treat me well"

I usually ask for 100p. Too much you ask? Well in the time/mana it takes to port to DL, levi, sow and run to KC, then do the evac i could have done 3 or 4 other ports (which i get on average ~40p-50p per port). So i actually lose time/plat by doing those EJ evacs, but I like to help when I can

If I meet you at the druid rings I pay a flat 50p rate. If I'm calling someone to come get me at all I'm offering at least 100p. Honestly, how are some people not embarrassed with themselves?
