I use Eurosoft virtual diag when suspecting hardware failure. Mainly for the logs it collects so that i can show the client.

It appears the hard drive is fucked up. Hoping Sean can cast his nerd wizardry on it to fix it :|

The semester starts today, luckily I have a laptop for backup!

Boot up Ubuntu from disk and see if you can extract any important files - then proceed to burn your harddrive and get a new one.

Ubuntu is another operating system which is free from bluescreens. If you run it from a disk, it is not dependent on your hard drive. You can then take out any files on your HD (assuming it's not completely roasted) that you need and put them onto a usb stick. Then, physically remove your hard drive from your motherboard, venture into the wilderness, build an altar, douse your old HD with the flammable liquid of your choosing and set it aflame for dishonoring you.

She is still capable of getting on the computer to get any info/files she needs. the crashing is 3-5 times a day she said.
