Yeh, pretty much entirely dependent on where you're living. Average rent in the area i live now is 1900$ a month + utilities.

The area I grew up around was like 600$ a month for the same living space.

I'm in suburban Minnesota...probably right in the middle when it comes to cost of living.

I make about 50k a year but ya my girl makes 35k a year and i make 50k and we live pretty good, we're about to buy a 5 bedroom 2 and a half bedroom house for only 200k

More like low 60s with the bonus! I'm not ashamed to admit that I wanted my wife to stay home and spend time raising my daughter. I was happy to work my ass off so should could. Not ashamed to be "whipped" by my wife of 10+ years either, she lets me play elf sim.
