My guess is salem started the drag before getting on top of water and he let go of the Window when the character poofed (snapped back)

This would have put lithiumm back at the water edge where he casted torpor and started walking over water assuming Teeks went swimming down to chase

my guess is in the 10 seconds teeks was running around in 1st person I went under the water, casted torpor on myself, then returned looking for him
