What should I be farming? What CAN I farm at my level? Besides bone chips, though I hear 2pp a stack isn't bad.

my approach to mmos is always to bust my butt and do everything i can/allocate all my time to leveling and then come back for the gear/plat. I do understand however many classes need to gear up to really viably play the game, however in your case this is not... the case.

Grouping it plays a bigger roll if you have to heal on an overpull or something, bur otherwise just learn to play with what you have. Bad thing about P99 is the farming. On live in '99 you could just group at a mob to get an item you needed for an upgrade. These days you are more likely going to be forced to buy it from a farmer.

Even with my current cost for spells? I struggled just a bit to get my level 9 spells, and fear that I may not make enough for my next set. Especially since most of the people I group with /autoloot before I can even take a turn.
I'm always up for trying anything really. I don't care, my main goals are exploring the world/making money not for self benefit/levels. In that order. When i say making money, not for self benefit. I like to make money and then give some to starting players. I always did this. In WoW, and EQ2 when I played. I didn't do it when I played EQLive, because I was very young and was focused on exploring. Basically it's my way of repaying back the community for a few good eggs that I've dealt with.

Well Azeth was telling you to not worry about accumulating large wealth until later on because when you think about it spending an hour when you are level 20 making $ will equate to about 5 minutes of work once you are 50. Now if you are needing some plat to buy some spells, then yes of course do whatever short term farming you need to do. Go get some bone chips and sell them for 5pp a stack, not 2pp. Don't worry about giving back to the community at your level. Just level up and port me around.

tell you what....level the necro that you love more than the druid...play the druid on the side when you need a break, once your necro is high enough you can easily farm your druid items and money just by fear-kiting mobs....which you can then give to your druid
yes i know, i win [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I soloed my druid to I think level 11 before I switched over to the shaman. It was a bit of a pain, but not really that bad, especially not after I got my level 9 spells - thorns helps a lot. Basically, if I recall correctly, I'd thorns up and just melee the mob, maybe nuke once or twice, and then tree up to heal. Not super-fast, but there are certainly worse soloers at that level. Once you hit 14 and get SoW you can kite effectively and it'll get way easier. 2 hours a level is nothing; on my shaman right now, who's 26, I'm doing 4 hours a level at my very fastest, usually more like 5 due to bad pulls or competing for monsters. You really shouldn't judge a class based on how it plays at level 9. Of course, if you're in Crushbone, the quests you should be doing are the Crushbone belts and shoulderpads. Although if you're strapped for cash, it may be wiser to sell the former for 1pp each and the latter for 2pp each (although you get about half that money doing the quests anyway).
Selling bone chips is a great way to make money as a lowbie in general, but not specifically in Faydwer, as demand tends to be pretty low (not a lot of necros running around). They generally go for 5-10pp a stack if you can find a buyer. If not, run to Kaladim and give them four at a time to Gunlok Jure of the paladin guild for a few gold and some experience (the experience is excellent at lower levels, but if you have a few stacks it can still be substantial at your level). I didn't even have enough money to get all my spells on my druid when I hit 9; the good news is that not all of them are strictly necessary. I'm a perfectionist, though, and insist on having every spell. Another nice way to farm up some plat is killing green goblins in Butcherblock (not the warriors or whelps, though). They'll drop a few gold every kill, and while the casters are tougher, they'll also drop gems.

Don't neglect Flame Lick. That oft overlooked little spell is a decent boost for a long time.

I gave the game a fair shot. I got sick of no grouping, then trying to find a solo spot, to be ambushed, then going to WC on guild's suggestion and dying there and not having a way back to retrieve my corpse.
