For clarification, the character had a Red Dragon Tooth, weight reducing bags, resist gear, etc... totaling somewhere near 100k, not more.

Back when I played EQ (beta-luclin) matters like these were handled by the player-base. Toxic, thieving assholes were punished via ostracization and shunned from joining guilds, due to their reputation alone. Additionally, bans meant something. That's $50, subscription fees, and a host of lost characters.

Unfortunately times have changed. Bans mean little, as accounts are free and infinite. Reputation matters not, as the guilds on this server openly recruit toxic players due to a limited population size. The lack of societal pressure to be honorable and honest combined with half-hazard punishment leads to behavior like this.

You should also re-read the original post, as you've clearly missed the point...
