I like how everyone finds the most obscure artist and posts that as what they are listening to in order to.... I don't know why people do it. Top 40 songs are top 40 songs for a reason: a shitload of people listen to it and like it.

Now, you're telling me that every one of you are listening to this shit you are listing?

I'm listening to miley cyrus party in the usa.

And I'm the only one with balls enough to admit it, you fucking pussies.

I think the main reason people post their indie crap or obscure music, is to spread the artist around for those who may not have listened to it. Things like Shazam, SoundHound, Last.fm, even Pandora have a "similar artists" search. I discovered Bat For Lashes and Digital Daggers that way. Go out and find some new music!

Also -- Bat For Lashes is featured on "The Vampire Diaries" soundtrack; how's that for top 40?

Oh please, this whole thread is more or less one big pissing match to see who's cooler and more individualistic by listing an album that 6 other people listen to.

I'm reasonably sure more than one poster here googled some musical term they heard their emo friend say once and listed the first 2 hits, having no clue what it even sounded like. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Here's what I'm listening to right now:

I'm pretty much just looping this and other ones by the same guys over and over. It might be obscure, but they aren't trying to get famous or be cool, so it doesn't count.

I was actually going to post something similar to this. Kudos for beating me to it...haha. I guess you only become cool by liking a band that no one else likes or has heard of. It shows how uninterested you are in popular culture and gives you so cred with your emo friends. I am sure that will draw the ire of a few who will respond, "you never heard of <band name here>, what a fag!", but oh well.
