This is what I hate. Anytime I have lost a camp I suck it up and camp out or wait for them to go AFK or if they aren't too big of a Dick/Bitch I make a new friend. I have made COUNTLESS friends after taking their camps while they were AFK. When they man up and take accountability for their actions, that speaks volumes.

People in this game aren't 12-13 anymore... The reason we love Classic EQ/Vanilla WoW/DAoC etc, is taking accountability for your actions. No name change shit, no cross realm transfers, no instant ques with cross server people. Your Name, that's all you have. Ruin it and you might as well start over.

4-5 minutes after the mobs are up sounds right to me.

5 minutes is all I can handle. Got in a big shit fit with a guy at frenzy camp because he had been gone a while. I gave him a /tell saying he needed to get back to the camp if he wanted to keep it. Made for some good fun. Poor sirken had to waste his time showing up though.
I'm torn about whether to view that as time wasted. On the one hand, at first glance it seems petty compared to the other 'issues' on the server, yet in the other if 'issues' means dealing with raid complaints (which is meant to be a 'hands off' approach now), then I think it's more important to show up at Frenzy then Trakanon. Resolving day to day average player problems is far more important than fixing pixels for 10% of the server.

I suppose regardless of exact rulings and assumed times and such, everything follows the Play Nice Policy. While the PNP has rules spelled out very specifically, the most important thing to remember is the NAME of the Policy.

The object here is to be nice, and be fair. and to arbitrate disputes between yourselves keeping in mind being nice and fair. GM's really hate to intervene, and when they do they will just say "Why couldn't you figure this out between yourselves? I should be a last resort" which is all part of the whole "Play Nice" part of the Policy.

I do regret joining the server long after people had shit all over the concept of a PNP. I read about guilds training each other and see the videos and it's just like WHAT THE WHAT
Pegasus feather cloak is a lower-level example of not playing nice.

My answer to this is in between everyone else's. 2 minutes is plenty of time. So I wait around that long, then I tell them I'm pulling the spawn because they're AFK. If they wake up/come back while I'm fighting it, I'll gladly let them take it from there or get whateverwhatever drop.
But mostly, I don't camp jack. I'm a bard. I can't be sitting still. If something pops up on track, and I take 2 minutes getting to it, that counts, too.

Afk I give them a little time. RL sometimes can mess you up with afk. Also if a group wipes and I want their camp, I let them regroup instead. I ask if I can take it after another wipe.

It's ok to 'afk camp' a spawn, but if a PH or the mob itself is left up for more than a minute or two, they've forfeited the camp. I will add, however, that if you take a camp from someone like this, and they come back within a minute or so of you taking their mob, it would be courteous to give them back the camp (though you don't have to).

There's was a specific thread about this regarding Hadden. Hadden was up for about 7 seconds and some asshat came along and took him from the dude actually camping him. GMs ruled in favor of the asshat. Their reasoning being that it was a single spawn and there was no reason original camper should not have been ready. I guess if you're actively xping and clearing other stuff it's a different story, as you might not always be properly ready to engage whenever the mob spawns.

Personally, I'd give the original camper a couple minutes before taking the camp theyve been camping for oh-so-long. It's just proper etiquette.
