My project is a code base dedicated to providing easy-to-administer classic EQ templates to those looking to start a server. We have a long ways to go, but progress is underway and I guarantee you that people will eventually use our template to open a box.

Read; I am slightly modifying the stock EQEmu database and code but doing so on my own platform to make it harder to use and contribute to... instead of simply contributing to the already existing open source projects that do this- because I want to make a name for/feel good about myself.

EQEmu's goals don't align with mine. They are free to retrieve any and all of our changes and merge them into their project. I will probably make a post over there when I have a significant body of work they might like to have. I haven't even made a real post for my project here yet and have only casually plugged it here and there. I don't feel the need to recruit; as the project offers more and more to the community, good people will gravitate towards it. I've already had dozens of people thank me for trying to do what I'm doing as we all know the options out there for starting a classic EQ box are crap and have been for a long time.

This is a hobby for me, a chance to work on something fun while giving something back to the community. I don't really care what people think with regards to it; if everyone said it was a crap idea and a crap project, I would still keep right at it.

Actually nilbog is trying to do better than what you aim to do- because, you know, he has experience with the code. Knows how to take advantage of the rules system, etc.

Anyways- I'm glad to hear it's a hobby of yours. That's kinda funny, it was a hobby for me too when I worked on it. Does that change any thing at all? Or do you just want Jeremy credits?
