That's even more hilarious... why nuke Trakanon (a blue server) in its infancy and then "try again" a few years later.
To be fair then Vox was launched along with EQ going F2P and suggested to new players to be the server to start on. Which is probably why at least half the - rather healthy - population on Vox are true EQ noobs.

Sadly all these new players are playing under the heavy weight of the massive easifications supplied by Defiant drops, marketplace purchaseables, mercenaries, hold-your-hand-questing etc. etc. - thus mostly entirely unable to play their class(es) at all well, let alone know anything about the zones and Lore of EQ in general.

I doubt they would use the old code, so it wouldn't look or feel like classic EQ. So I wouldn't be interested.

For sure. I logged on my old toon about two years ago and went to Freeport. I had no idea what to do. I didn't recognize anything, so I just logged back off. It was really disapointing.

i may get flamed for this but its all good.

at first i thought the new FP was completely retarded. i hated it. then i started to really look around and it actually felt like a city. old FP never felt like a city to me much like qeynos. it was just a bunch of houses smashed into each other. the new FP walls and shit make it seem like a real trading port. anyways i like the new MT as well (misty thicket.) i think if you put nostalgia aside, the new zones are actually an improvement.

I've posted a few times in the thread that using Al'Kabors codebase is a requirement for this to be a big success. Haven't heard anything though.

And no Boxing handles itself if you charge decent subscription fees.
