Further: Beyond the Threshold by Chris Roberson

I liked this book. Read it this past month. About the first attempt to reach the Alpha Centauri system, but the team ends up being awoken from hyper sleep 12 thousand years later. Kind of comedic.

Read the Wool series of you like science fiction. It's a quick read and not overly complex but I couldn't put it down.

Spent the last couple of months reading Raymond E. Feists Riftwar Cycle. Twenty books of widely varying quality (none of which come close to the best fantasy I've read) and three more to go.

Outside of ASOIAF I've enjoyed Robin Hobbs' Assassin books a lot, Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy and standalones are well worth reading and while a lot of Steven Erikson's Malazan series is patchy books two and three are a couple of the best I've read. I also liked Tad Williams' Dragonbone Chair books.
