If you really think eq was designed to be a pvp game, I'm not sure what to say really.


Pretty sure the original devs themselves said pvp was an afterthought in everquests development.

an afterthought is an overstatement. They just caved in to popular demand and created a few servers where you could hurt other players. No thinking went into it, and they only applied the most rudimentary band-aids to the most glaring problems.

OP speaks of people "on the fence" of switching to Red. Those people exist?

Serious question: have you ever given red 99 a fair shake? The forum is enough to turn anyone away, but it is not the way the server actually is that I've seen. If more people like yourself, ie those hesitant because they think the community is shit (right?), came to red, the community would 180 overnight.
