this thread sounds suspiciously like asking how to box and not get in trouble...

your IP exemption is so two people with the same IP can PLAY together. sitting AFK isn't playing. while it isn't strictly 2-boxing, it seems to run against or at least right up to the line of the reason you were given an exemption to begin with.

my advice would be to not use your IP exemption like this. only use it to actually play together.

If we follow the logic most of you seem to be advocating here then anyone going AFK anywhere near other players XPing - for even a moderate amount of time - risk getting permanently banned.

Surely this cannot be the case?

It is. This server wants NOTHING to do with 2 boxers. NOTHING. So if someone is sort of suspicious of it you probably will get reported. Simple as that. Auto follow even sort of looks shady. I don't recommend it unless both of you start killing quick.

When GM's can see that the Ip addresses match to 2 accounts that are doing this practice it is suspicious yes.

I doubt it's that suspicious. Suggesting that the staff is too stupid to know folks will go AFK on occasion during the course of normal gameplay strikes me as insulting at best. Granted I tend not to use auto-follow, despite the wife being rather ditzy and having a propensity for going the wrong way. It's not against the rules and probably wouldn't cause trouble but all the same I prefer for invisible GM's to see me having to stop and wait for said ditzy wife versus them seeing a character running around on autofollow all the time.

If your afk though when GM comes to test you and your not back at PC quickly its instaban for both of you no excuses like you had diarrhea or you had to let the dog out etc. Is it really worth it? If someone gonna be afk more then 10 mins i would honestly camp. Not worth getting banned over cause i'm sure GM's have heard the story " my girlfriend is in the bathroom and you know how women are" before and dont buy it.

Going to be honest here.

Yes, this would probably raise red flags. Is there anything wrong with what you're asking to do? No, as long as you are never controlling that cleric, this isn't two boxing, and you aren't going to get in trouble.

Be aware, however, that we will often run two-box tests when people don't even know we are around or manipulating the situation to get a desired result. It's pretty obvious when its one person controlling two characters. If I were 'investigating' your two box, I would wait until your 'dad' moved, do a test without you even realizing it was happening, and then nail you if you failed.

tl;dr We don't punish innocent people. If you are twoboxing, we will know. Keep your hands off that second character [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
