This is incredibly disappointing, and if others don't find it so, that is even more so. This type of community, what it has become, what it has festered and molded into in due to the unavoidable consequences of having stagnating game content that does not provide for the complex interdependence that made up this game in the first place. Now, I study politics for a living. The way I meet my needs for survival is in the study of how people interact in political systems, and somehow, through all that, I do not think I ever came to fully, in my heart, understand exactly what it is that George Carlin refers to here, as it is something that many people know, I did, but to really have it in your heart is an incredibly different thing.

All political systems tend toward corruption, certainly. That is the state of things, and it is the natural flow of all associations of individuals. But the degree to which it is embraced, and to which schadenfreude is encouraged and desired by the people themselves, not even just the system, is ultimately a sign of the decay of the soul and loss of the potential of what people are capable of.

EverQuest was a fantastic game, but regrettably Project 1999 (by no fault of the game designers) is ultimately a failure in offering what is a legitimate callbacka to a time when complex interdependence was possible among individuals. With stagnant content, there decays the necessity of individuals to depend upon one another. Normally, in EverQuest's structure, player made agreements could be maintained through player made means, such as embargos and the like. It is never ultimately the desire of those involved to meet this end, as all are here to have a good time, but when one person's enjoyment comes at the suffering of others, there is no justice in a system that permits that. With the scarcity of experience, and the growth of content, it created a structure in which social interactions made people depend upon one another for day to day necessities within the game. But now, that is a system which is all but decayed.

So what is the result of having a system so decayed? Zealotry, hatred, anger, rage, and the aforementioned schadenfreude. It is no longer about each person just having a fun time, because the fun time has been consumed, it has been exhausted, and so the only fun time that remains is at the suffering of other individuals. This is the system EverQuest unknowingly began to dismantle in Luclin, and what was obliterated with Plane of Knowledge. It is the system that is lacking from most MMOs since, which has lead to the horrible communities present, that people acknowledge, but enough of the loudest embrace that it remains unshifting. It is one in which there is no true way for any sense of justice to occur from the ground up, only from the top down. But when the top is derived from those that are born from the inherently hate filled system, the corruption of the structure is unavoidable.

It isn't going to get better, as enough of the loudest too openly accept that this is how people are. The veil of consciousness has been driven so far over people's perceptions that it is nailed into their eyeballs.

What can I do? Nothing. Instead, I shall listen to George Carlin, one of the greatest critical thinkers, and outspoken individuals about the bullshit that has consumed our species and should be a disappointment to every critical thinker. I gave up on my countrymen, because I think we squandered great gifts. So, time to sit back, and enjoy. Lets watch the chaos, and watch the collapse. Instead of being invested in how we act, and how we are as a people, it's best to just sit back, and watch you all continue to fuck things up and squander your gifts, and your potential.

So in that way, Lord Bob's continual attitude has provided me a great deal of entertainment, because people that bad are what humanity is. You all embrace it, and that's the type of self-destructive people you'll be. And that's just funny to watch.

thanks for that lol, I love this guy.
Yeah, George Carlin was a genius. His work is among the best, because somewhere around the late 1980's, he stopped focusing on short jokes (What does a dog do on his day off? He can't lay around, that's his job.), and he started to develop his comedy more focused at society and the way people relate to one another. It is absolutely genius. He said the moment when it happened is when he did this skit about saving the planet, saying that the planet is fine, the people are fucked.

This is beyond ridiculous and the bias is really painful to watch.

LordBob asks 2 people from 2 guilds and they were told NO. They cant prove it, because they dont remember the names of those people, but Derubael believes them 100%. They did not talk to other guilds, but because they claim someone told them no, they are forever justified in their "fuck you" approach. Really?

They were offered spot, they were invited in discussion by many, but they kept saying no and Derubaels position is that it is perfectly ok and forever justified, because they were told NO by someone, somewhere...

Was that before or after their forumjaculation all over the sky day thread...?

Splorf, do you mean you spoke to them after they made their sky day post saying they wouldn't join in on the rotation, which was made after they were told 'no, you can't join the sky rotation'?
This "before or after" is laughable! They cant prove they were told NO, they cant even say who told them NO, but Derubael keeps lawyering this "before or after" nonsense. If they really wanted to cooperate with others they had many chances to do so.

Derubael, why dont you just tell us the truth? Say you have buddy in there and thats why you are trying to help them. Dont hide behind your indefensible "before or after" argument. One or two NOs from unknown (lol) does not beat all the offers from other guilds. Not if they are grown up adults with brains in their heads. This argument could maybe hold if we all were 5 years old kids.

Doljo will burn because of this. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
