The problem is you dedicate 0 time for mobs that you have no need killing.

It's far too easy to kill them, just to screw over any competitors.

People will only share when they have to, time commitment is one of the most obvious motivators.
At the very least it should be fun messing with raids with faction. Other than that, server won't be much fun for those wanting competition and guild vs guild.

Kergan while i disagree that this is what it would end up like in 3 months, even if you are right, those 3 months would be fun as fuck and pop would totally blow up.

now whats the point.. miserable grind to 60, app nihi and be a warm body... how is this a thriving pvp server?

And BTW HB has ran RD perectly. Fair loot system, chill mentality, good raid knowledge, geared main tank or geared cleric.

There is literally nothing someone can do that he has not done, high playtime etc.

No variance is broken.

the funny thing also is that you aren't doing it to "lock out the competition". for the most part as a result of this behavior, people either quit or join nihilum. so then how does banking that umpteenth trak bp or CoF help the server? it doesnt, just in the long run kills the pop.

You guys are completely delusional if you think the population would explode even if these changes were enabled. Where would these people come from? Do you think there are 200 people sitting here waiting on variance to be enabled so they can start a character?

Variance isn't going to do anything. The same people getting the loot now will get it with or without variance. It just baffles me why RD would even want it. You can't get a mob now when you can organize to contest it for literally a month if you wanted, and you think somehow that if it spawns randomly you'll be able to organize in time to do it? You're asking for this out of pure spite. You want to make it suck for Nihilum as much as possible since you can't do it with the means already implemented (PVP). The staff either A) doesn't care or B) sees right through your bullshit.

At least HB is being reasonable with his requests, asking not for Nihilum to be essentially punished for their domination but for another set of random repops on the raid targets. Last I checked variance was dramatically reduced on blue because it ruined the game for a lot of people. Why the fuck would they enable it here?

Maybe part of the reason Nihilum is unwilling to do anything is because your methods? If I remember correctly there was at least talk in the beginning of allowing RD to take some raid targets? Now its thread after thread asking the GMs to step in. What happens if they enable variance and it does absolutely nothing to change the situation (which is wouldn't)? Are you just going to start making posts to raid suspend Nihilum just so RD can have the shit uncontested? It's funny as shit to me really, you talk about how you want to compete and PVP but you want the GMs to put methods in place where you can stealth a mob without having to contest for it. All the PVP you could possibly want is right there for you. Sorry that the deck is stacked against you but you're taking a 3 month old guild that isn't even half filled with 60s, isn't even in full pre-kunark planar loot against a 2 year old guild knee deep in VP geared alts.

Velious is in a few months. Maybe work on getting your guild stocked with enough 60s with their spells to start contesting the extra 50 raid mobs that are about to get added. There are raid targets on 8 hour timers that drop near BiS loot. There will be plenty to get done and plenty of loot to keep members interested.

I learned long ago not to judge others, especially how they choose to spend their free time. To do so just makes you seem bitter and spiteful.
