Like I said he didn't sound like he was joking, and me being a brand new player who is still learning things I would not have realized this. And this isn't the first time i've heard about rogues not getting groups because they didn't have their epics yet. I guess all those people were kidding too.

not sure how you can interpret if someone is joking or not by text however with something so ridiculous he thought it would have been obvious he was just poking fun at ya.

not trying to troll u man, it was just a joke. i leveled a rogue on blue without epic. aint no thing. the economy is just so jacked here when people see a rogue without epic they are a little shocked. ya youll get some flack but its really all in fun.

if you really think you arent going to get groups because you dont have epic then just reroll. sounds like you dont even enjoy rogue to begin with. i suggest monk if you are set on melee. alot more fun than rogue with more utility. fd so good. also really easy to twink. just need wus staff and you are good to go really.

Monk is not more fun than Rogue. Rogue never has to worry about pulling or tanking, can focus all attention at being a meat slicing machine. That to me is far superior than some over-hyped bruce lee wanna-be.

I wish this was the case. I tank and pull more often than I'd like to admit.

And I've seen at least three /ooc conversations in lowbie zones that went along these lines:

Pokerback says out of character: 31 Rogue LFG
Dickbag says out of character: Got epic?
Pokerback says out of character: yeah
Dickbag says out of character: come to ledge

Yes. Let's make it even harder on a new player on the most group-dependent class in the game.

rogue gameplay more one dimensional than wizard. stand behind mob and hit backstab. evade if you are feeling froggy. naw on rogue. naw naw.

EQ gameplay is one dimensional in total. Sorry but if you are looking for some strategic complex gaming then even the busiest ENC isn't gonna be too impressive and this game is not for you, move on. Rogue = best DPS in the game and is always at the fore-front of the fight. = fun.

No but seriously, only people who don't really know what all is going on in EQ would call it one dimensional. I can't be assed to type out an explanation though.
