I never thought the day would come when I would say this. (I petitioned to have all of Nihilum banned because of one of his trains) But I wholeheartedly believe Tune should be unbanned and given demi-GM status as a guardian and protector of the server.

Mostly due to his forumquesting and good natured /praise while in a bad situation.

Tune has given the time to re-evaluate his life. That's good.

I know there is good in you, the Emperor hasn't driven it from you fully.

Life has been re-evaluated. Tune was powerleveling a bunch of randoms last night, until I came to help and we got about 8 or so levels. Tune has always ran around and helped lowbies out. He might of killed a bunch of lvl 52s but he is a decent guy tbh. I only talked shit on him because I was on the other side. The truth is, this server needs people like Tune. He hasn't needed gear in a very long time, he spends his days helping new players out and gearing them up. Unban Tune so he can log off the forums.

Putting the trolling aside I don't really know if Tune deserved a ban in the first place. I do however believe in banned players staying banned if they deserved it no matter how much they do for the server. Server integrity has to be number one and if people think they can get out of bans it allows them to cheat again.

If Tune is unbanned a GM needs to state why and what mistake was made by the GMs.

I believe in suspensions and think permabans should be reserved for multiple or severe offenses.

If you are on a server and find out one day others are cheating and you have been wasting your time it kills a server. Integrity is something project 1999 has always taken pride in and it shouldn't sacrifice that to keep someone because they power level and raid a lot.

While I theoretically agree with you, the punishment still needs to fit the crime. Tune got hit when the GMs were duel wield + rampaging banhammers to show they meant business at the start of the PNP. He also took a worse punishment than many others that comitted similar minor offenses.

GMs: We get it. You want to clean up the server. Things are improving, people are following the rules. You've proven your point, I think it's time to show that you are merciful overlords and unban Tune among others.

And can we stop calling a minor PNP violation "cheating"? It might technically be true by the strict definition of the word but imagine some new player trying to decide if he/she wants to play here and every other thread talks about someone cheating. I would think this server is nothing but hackers and MQers...when in reality its cleaner than any EQ server in the history of EQ.

I said I believe in suspensions for smaller crimes. I assume Tune's ban is because of other infractions in the past. If this was the only thing he ever did I 100% think he should be unbanned.

That is also why I said if he is unbanned GMs should explain why publicly. They should admit to their mistakes instead of just outright unbanning him. That would give the wrong idea to other players and stupid theories of donating, etc. would arise. You may say who gives a shit what people think but preserving box integrity is important.
