Animals particularly dogs when being personified typically have yellow/orange (rarely brown) eyes. I think I saw purple once. Red is a color as well but usually only when the animal is feral/rampant/possessed.

Either way, green is the worst color choice.

Any deeper meaning or is it just a stylistc choice? like the AP style guide to anime. Like how cicadas chirp and roosters crow.
