I suggest you start as ranger on red. Also, dont forget to contact Tune, he is known for helping the newbs.

As your brand spankin new first char on P99, I suggest Necro or Mage (im biased but furthermore suggest Necro). Necros can solo 1-60, kings of farming items you need, never in need oh chanters for mana, and played well 50+ are one of the better grouping classes.
