Teams99 creates a safe haven for lower level players, a natural us vs them scenario applicable for everyone as compared to here where only a few azrael feel like that. People don't worry about ruining their faction with the other team, nor do they feel like assholes when they kill them. It gives additional incentive for unfamiliar people to help each other and promotes community.

Highly agree... Teams will give a purpose for the casual player. A purpose of helping the lowbies on the team and defending zones while aiming to be part of the teams top guild. Hopefully there will be a raiding guild on each team. If 1 team becomes to dominant the two (or three) other teams can ally to take down the leading team.

All this will be well and good early on, but because its been 15 years since EQ came out, people who play now play more for the end game. In 1999 servers were bottom heavy (mostly lower levels), now all the servers are top heavy with the vast majority of the population being 50+.

Teams only makes matters worse when it comes to pvp and end game. Thats the issue, and thats why teams99 will only bring new problems, have a negative impact on the present pvp server, and fix nothing.

While I agree the game is going to be more top-heavy then live, I think for the server to actually be successful we need more then the max levels. I'd even say that teams would be better for high-level players because there is a way to funnel even the non-hardcore there if there's population along the way. Teams help the low/mid-levels, and that in extension helps the higher levels.

Heh. Didn't read most of thread. But all the cries in jere here can be answered by this: Teams will bring a higher pop than R99 has currently. That is the only reason ppl want teams. If r99 had 400 pop no one would be complaining, but it doesn't.
