Rand is hardly a model libertarian. I don't know why you have to stereotype all libertarians as extreme fundamentalists.
However your beloved Obama, Mccain, Clinton, Reagon, Gore, basically everyone since JFK was shot have been raging extremists even if they platformed as moderates.

Money is a tool. Its how we allow it to be abused and used and maintained in the way we do that causes it to be evil. If it was a contract between one person and another, it would work like an IOU and be completely morally fair.

Yes we allow it by perpetuating the U.S. Department of Treasury and not printing our own money and controlling it directly our selves.
Instead we allow our money to be abstractly dictated by 3rd parties far removed from us.

We do not need national or global oversight of currencies. It worked in the past having many different kinds. We could have different currency in every single municipality.

It would further buffer banks controlling and dominating a single currency through buying up stock and resources making the game much harder to play. Not impossible. But the overall affect would be minimized by not having a global currency such as the US Dollar.
Lincon got killed for wanting to print his own currency. Not over slavery.
