The reason the raid fights are stallfests, is because the attitude is so serious - and people want the other side to quit.

If people knew that after the loss, people would say good fight - maybe hit you with a res, or at least let you get your shti and be gone, we probably wouldn't have the 2 hr stallfests at zoneline's scared to make a move, unless the actual tactic is to take an advantageous spot and stall them out ofc.

Pvp should be a fun thing, and some drama should come - but this shit is weird, this box feels awkward, and way too serious.

Thing works both ways, why would anyone put in hours of work to cater a bunch of sad egocentric whiners ? We as a community would stand a lot better chances of getting the bugs fixes by creating a less hostile community.

Thats just inaccurate. Go back to the dev posts from the summer of 2011 before this server was launched. People like lethdar and other now forum "trolls" being positive, enthused, and helpful. People are "trolls" and "whiners" now because of what has happened here.

Holocaust was unbanned like a week or two after the naggy walling - because Rogean listened and got the whole story, everyone acts like it's this big conspiracy.

He just wasn't paying attention for X amount of time, Amelinda may have been sweeping it under the rug, she gave him the video and we got the standard response.

When hearing the whole story holo received a suspension and unban - to say they were still unhappy with our exploiting.

I doubt Rogean pulled the plug for Nihilum as they said in the video he can summon gear, what's the point, he could summon plat and sell it- why would he need a crew of no lifers to farm this plat from items, to RMT for a small cut.

He would be making tons of plat and just RMTing what he needs if that's the point. No one can know how much plat is on the box.

I've been forum questing here in the trenches for a while now. People didn't just start going to forums saying "fuck rogean" "fuck null" "server is shit" randomly one day. It started with questions / polls etc. Threads with null where we were told he was "looking into it" promises that staff were discussing it with null etc., only to find out from null himself in naikon vent that he had peaced out months ago and wasn't working on shit. Things like server rules being promised that never happened, amelindas infamous ask a question for the staff that never went anywhere and then the next one and then sirkens one etc. The players got the middle finger a lot of times here.

You don't think I realize this is free and a volunteer project? Of course I do. It's why you'll never see me upset about velious not being out or what not, it's a free project. What does piss me off is when people in power lie or bullshit rather than just being honest and sharing things like "sorry we just aren't spending time on red99 ATM guys" or "null isn't on staff position is open" why lead us on and bs? Even with the stream, which was good and showed a renewed willingness to look at eq pvp, seemed to have some "fu moments" that just seem so unnecessary. I was accidentally suspended once and a certain unnamed staff member (not Sirken) told me I fucking deserved it for " whining" about being randomly suspended for no reason. It's the hall monitor attitude shit that drives people crazy.

I have the utmost respect for you nilbog, you run a eq emu project with your own dollars at the expense of your own time. And to be fair it's not really you that 99% of frustration is directed at. All we ask for as players on this free project is honesty and mutual respect.

And to add, yes there are some complete fags who just go full retard about staff, I do get that, but I think the majority of posters here were at least at one point in time pretty reasonable people.

I do hope the new server is a success and it is exciting and I do appreciate you're doing anything at all.

I feel that at times the staff treats anyone who disagrees as a "troll". Trolls are people like Cast/Kimm and yes even my pal Slathar [who would be honored with that title]. Not every post that disagrees with staff is a troll. Dunno, a lot of staff just always seem super on edge / defensive, and I get that there's plenty of retards out there on boards, and making dumb petitions and the whole nine yards, believe me I work in an industry where I deal with complete retards 24/7 who say all sorts of obscenities to me, but I just shrug it off / ignore them. Here a lot of the time they get responded to and the "good' posters are 'punished' for their sins.

I'm prolly already pushing the forum ban line even with that, which to me is a pretty honest and non-offensive, post. I wouldn't have donated to this server if I "hated" the staff or was a "troll." I care about the server, prolly way 2 much, yaw def too much, and so I and a lot of others have strong opinions. Anyways, it's good 2 see people care about red, it's good to see dev involvement, I hope the server is a big hit.
