I think Sony needs to realize people still like MMOs that looks like they were made for N64 or PS1 lol. Thats one of the most appealing things about old eq to me, and also the fact that quests happened through actually having to talk to npcs and getting your response right as opposed to having clickable responses. Small things really, but they made the game.

I wish Sony would just kinda jumble the old world of EQ1 and put it in a new box [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You will all be disappointed because EQN isnt being made for the p99 crowd.

You cant make EQ1 in 2013 and expect to succeed(make money).

None of the ADHD WoW 2000 APM MMO players are going to buy that shit and THAT is who is paying the bills, not the 1999 crowd.

Sorry to say guys but your MMO is going to come from a kickstarter and not from big bad sony.

I love eq1...you can even put me in the old vision (tm) fanboy club...but even I don't think the NPC interaction in eq was good. It was buggy, broken, and generally was better when you could avoid it. Most folks did not solve riddles to get the dialogues right, they looked them up on walk throughs.

I also agree that clickable choices are very unimmersive, as are animations or voice acted cut scenes where yo watch your character talk on his on like swtor.

Well the pilot music was revealed for eqnext. It was a rough draft but definitely had the feel of Everquest.

EQ2 was alright, it just had the misfortune of coming out around the same time as WoW.

Where I stand very interested is that they said they would make it a complete "sandbox" game, which would mean it wouldn't be anything like WoW.
