Never seen this happened as you stated. Yes when we join a public group we state the obvious that a mob may pop an we will have to go, if can save my spot cool if not no problem and thanks. Especially when there are 5+ mobs in window that are WAAY over extended, than yes we say its very possible any minute for a mob to pop please be aware. This is done to assure people we are not just going to bail on them with /exit or ninja camp but yet give a pre warning just incase something pops. The raid timer variance has thrown in a huge curve ball as it is a lot harder to guess a spawn time so all this is old news, we have what 100+ hours of tracking a week and thats a low average number. Of course were gonna know when anything pops but for sure not 5mins early or you guys would be getting 0 MOBS. That pre BP is Complete bullshit.
Thats why a variance was put in if you even tuned into the livestream there was some great questions answered about how big bad TMO will run the server down if we knew spawn timers and there wasnt random variances.
Also Sirken even stated with 20 people he could easily contest mobs on this server. It is impossible for TMO to have everything on lock down and instead of going to places like Trakanon start out with stealing Draco BCGS etc" And like he said in 2 years how many people have tried? really just TMO dethroning IB than FE finally had some shit going but let it all fall apart. Like Sirken said, it really is time for the majority to come together, drop there petty little fights/disagreements and rally up to compete.
Be my guest to be the forum warrior though, claiming we have psychic powers or GM interventions which is a lie. Makes looting dragons a lot more easier when you all fight on here and not ingame.

In my time with TMO I can think of only one occasion when a batphone went out shortly before a mob popped. It was a batphone for Trak. We all logged on, found out the tracker had hit a hotkey by mistake and someone else sent a batphone. It was some ungodly hour an as you can imagine many people were really cranky about being woken up including Zeelot. Much yelling occurred and dkp penalties were handed down I think. Shortly after that, within 5-15min Trak actually popped. We all logged back in and killed it. Since then we have had 2 more false batphones (I think that's the count) that were not near any mob spawns and 2 different threads on our boards specifically addressing proper systems for tracking including NOT using macros for announcing a mob has spawned.

Now I'm all about conspiracy theories, but not really much to go on from this. As far as saying something about a dragon spawn in a group then dropping 5 min later cause something spawns: with an active roster of 121, lots of people are gonna be online playings alts. As Turp says many of us try to be courteous to our group mates and alert them that we may be logging with little to no warning. The probability that someone will make a comment like this within 5 minutes of a mob spawning is probably a lot higher than you think it is. I'm sure witnessing someone saying hey guys just so you know a dragon could spawn anytime then 2 min later he says shit i gotta go seemed odd but I bet it happens almost every week.
