Default I apologize in advance

I'm sorry to pull another one of these threads, considering there are a trillion of them. But I just came back after years away, and want to duo with a friend. So, shaman/necro, or shaman/enchanter?

Thanks a bunch guys!

Shaman / necro will be great at lower levels, but IMO you can do more with a Shaman / Chanter.

They're both very strong duos.

However, an enchanters weaknesses while solo (inability to heal, lack of get-out-of-jail-free cards like feign death and harmshield) are supplemented by being paired with the shaman who can help the enchanter out with heals and buffs and extra roots/slows. So I say shaman/enchanter is stronger overall. Not to mention tash + malo on a pet or an enemy is super awesome.

Edit - Though really, the necros weaknesses are pretty much negated by being paired with a shaman also. Slow, more roots, some help with pulls, and a malo for charms.

Shaman Monk strongest duo in this game. You need DPS to kill. Monks with haste are a killing machine. Shaman at low levels can't kill crap till you get your dog at 34. Shaman Enchanter both have Haste, both have slows seems like a waste of time to me.

Sham/Ench is a great duo, but that's only because sham/anything is a great duo and ench is very nice with a lot of classes as well. I agree with webrunner that sham and ench share some core abilities while other abilities are not present. In my opinion ench/druid has better synergy. Druid can't slow or haste (chanter covers that) but he can snare, which is really nice for pets and opens up fear kiting for the group. Plus you got evacs and ports and a nice DS. With my enchanter in a duo i prefer druid over shaman any time. In a bigger group i like shamans more because he takes some of my work, making it easier for me.

I agree that shaman/monk is great too. Really shaman/anything is good enough. That's why there are so many of them.

Don't listen to this ignorance. A hasted charmed pet is more DPS than a hasted monk, and will likely have more HPs than an equal level monk. Tash + malo will make charming easier, as will some heals for when the enc gets hit by his pet whose charm just broke.

Cler/Ench is the real gem here, if you want to abuse enchanter charming to the max.

If you don't want to charm, sham/nec is solid, so is sham/monk or sham/sk. Almost every duo with shaman works.

Nec for fear kiting, and then tag along a dps class like rogue or ranger etc. Lots of options.
