Hi guys, first post.
Started playing P1999 about a week ago, and I've been loving it so far, so many memories! Unfortunately I've been having some disconnection issues that have been getting worse. I started while I was at my parents house, and everything was fine, but I have since moved back to my own place, and that's when the issues started. I have been disconnecting seemingly randomly, sometimes it is several hours after logging on, sometimes minutes. My ping is generally good though I get occasional lagspikes, sometimes these precede the disconnect by several minutes, sometimes the disconnect comes without warning. Today has been worse than ever, I haven't stayed online longer than about 15 minutes in one go. I looked through this forum for clues; - This thread suggests it might be a problem with dynamic IP, but looking at whatismyip.com my ip hasn't changed during the last couple of hours and I've been disconnected several times. - This one suggests firewall issues, but I tried disabling windows firewall to no effect. My ISP is O2 in the UK, I have a wired connection to the router, I have opened port 5998 as suggested on the eqemulator website. I have tried with a clear connection (no other computers on network, no other programs requiring network access). I am running out of ideas here, so any help would be appreciated. | ||
