Accidentally gave NPC wrong items

I accidentally gave a npc my mage research book instead of the other book I needed to turn into for the quest. It was a 2:am on may 2nd in south qyenos. It was the the NPC "an investigator". in my mage book there were 3 shrunken goblin skull earrings that i farmed the days prior. Is there anyway i can get my items back? my character was Chronoo on blue server

reimbursement can sometimes take a long while to get to and or process.
If the quest wasn't that impossible to gather the items again. You may want to consider doing it again.
