Issues With Starting EQ

I've tried following the guide twice now, and too tired to try a 3rd time, and have been browsing the forums for about an hour.

I downloaded and REPLACED (overwrite) the files in the "Project 1999 Files (V45)" zip
I DELETED the arena, lavastorm, and nek forrest files listed in the guide
I DID NOT run everquest.exe or patch the game.

I tried to start the game using the batch file as described in the guide book. I get an error that says

"Windows cannot find 'eqgame'. Make Sure you typed the name correctlly, and then try again."

so, I then proceeded to check the Tech FAQ, and tried running eqgame from desktop, with XP sp2 compatibility, as administrator. I get the following notification / error

"you cannot attach a debugger while playing Project 1999"
[click ok]
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application"
[click ok]

I then proceeded to use winEQ2 default profile, with the same results as above.

Time for bed for now, hope to see some of you guys in game

Scrap this, I finally found the issue the following day. Was Antivirus program giving me issues.

I have the same problem, I want to play so bad!!!

your antivirus program is deleting or atleast blocking dsetup.dll from being executed. add dsetup.dll to your antivirus ignore list
