Bard Epic Questions

- When will Nortlav the Scalekeeper be added to game? I know we can't say for sure, but does anyone have a guess at when?

- Phurzikon and Nezekezena - I saw an old post on monkly business saying that a good group of 50's could (if they find the placeholder) hold down the spawn spot for both of these wurms. They both can drop a decent resist cloak, and mag/bard epic pieces. I could easily get a good group together for this IF it was the case. Looking at the wiki it shows Phurzikon having 6k health, which seems pretty easy, but Nezzy with 15k HP. Last i checked, a group of 50's arent taking down 15k health mobs that cast a 1.1k DD (Ice Comet). Am I wrong, and a group in their 50's can take this type of mob? Is this info on Nezy wrong? If Nezy is infact that much of a beast, what type of force am I going to need to gather in order to take him/her down?

If anyone else has questions about the Bard Epic, please feel free to hijack the thread. I looked, and didn't find many productive conversations about the epic, just about whether people thought it was more or less difficult than other ones, but not really why.

The named wurms have been soloed by level 52+ bards.

Both are fearable. Load your AE fear spell, snare them and kill. It's tedious but doable.

Wurms easily defeated with a duo or a group. The real problem is BW and Skyfire are zones where you get a lot of adds, and if you're not judicious with your use of the space you could wind up overwhelmed. Fear kiting is especially a dangerous strategy in these two zones, but it is basically the only way for a solo bard to survive against wurms since their hit boxes are too big to AE kite.

Not only due to their melee (bards can't tank for shit), but they cast, so traditional bard kiting with drums and chants is also incredibly dangerous. But no damage is taken if you can reliably snare and fear a mob.

The bard epic is top 5 for difficulty due to Trakanon's huge loot table (meaning guts are rare) and the fact it requires 3 raid drops (2 scales and guts). At least for the difficulty its the best epic out there, lol at necro/SK epics which suck as items and are hard to quest.

Nortlav comes in around the epic and planar revamps (undead bard, etc.) in a few months.

Nearly all of the evidence suggests he only ever drops red scales (which are already relatively cheap since people have been farming nagafen/ragefire/talendor for 4+ years) , so you still need to get the white scale from Vox or Gore. There are several anecdotes of "my friend said he dropped green scale last week" about, but we need to dig deeper to get it modified.

Guts are on their own table now btw. They weren't at some point on P99, but currently Trak always drops 2 Items, 2-5 Teeth, and 0-1 Guts. The Guts just happen to be like a 30% chance to drop from him.
