Different director, different distributor, different actors, different writers, direct involvement/approval of Toho themselves.

You're comparing "the Hulk" to "The Incredible Hulk".

More like Hollywood has butchered every single remake in the last 10 years, minus True Grit and maybe a couple others. The standard for a "good" movie these days is pathetic. Hollywood just does remakes and franchise movies because they know mindless mobs will will flock to the theaters and make them millions. I might even see the new Star Wars movies, though I will regret giving Disney my 30 bucks for their shit remake.

Dredd, Total Recall, and though technically not a remake, Oz come immediately to mind. Though I do agree that the trash remakes are certainly over the 50% mark, it's not hopeless.

Dredd was such a blatant rip off of The Raid. Total Recall was garbage, prefer the showtime series Total Recall 2070 or the original as it is more PKD inspired. Oz was fucking cringe worthy Id rather watch the Wiz.

Robocop was decent but they totally missed the gritty feel of the original not to mention the entire movie showed no real motivation (where was the crime and splatter punks etc?) for actually needing cyborg police or robots.

New IPs are a big investment/gamble so they just keep rehashing the same crap over and over.

the new shit has to manipulate people's emotions with scenery and music cause "muh immerzun" and people don't know how to write dialogue well anymore. there are some good originals that come out every year, but they usually don't have a good release.

seen beasts of the southern wild?

Am i reading this right? Someone thought the Judge Dredd Remake was good / not complete shit? let me guess you probably think fast and the furious 7 will be a stellar work of art too, dont you?

It had its moments, mostly thanks to Jean Reno.

Dr. Niko Tatopoulus: What's with the chewing gum?
Philippe Roaché: It makes us look more American.
