Default Slow Motion Fix please

Ive tried everything to fix this issue that has been posted on the forums and nothing has worked. But last week I was working out of town and the motel I was staying in just happened to have good enough internet connection to play EQ. Guess what, no slow motion the whole week but then I get home last night and bam slow motion is back....So what changed ??

When I come home I connect my laptop to an external monitor which is bigger than my laptops. Ive never had an issues with another game by doing this but when I disconnect my external monitor EQ runs fine.

So you PC wizards what is causing this and how can I fix it besides just playing on my laptop (I really like playing on my bigger monitor at home).

Sounds like on the one hand you have graphics acceleration and on the other you don't. Not sure why, unless you are running at significantly higher resolution on the big monitor. Try windowed mode and a small window as a test?

Also, you need to be plugged in to get graphics accel on most laptops.

Hello.

I play with a laptop too. This is what I do to run at normal speed:
- enter the game
- remove the power plug, wait 5 secs till laptop sees something has changed
- put the plug back in the socket. Laptop says he is happy to be fed again.

I can now run at full speed.

Weird, but it's simple and it works.

I noticed the slow motion thing this weekend on my laptop... was driving me bonkers. And now that I think about it, I WAS running it on battery.... when I plugged it in it went away. Must be speed step.

Ok I fixed this issue and here is how I did it. I looked up the specs for my external monitor online and found that it had some internal settings that you could change via a button on the back of the monitor that was virtually hidden.

It was a simple matter of switching the monitor from standard settings to graphic settings and bam problem solved.

Such a simple thing that caused me a month of headaches hope this helps someone else if they are having this same issue.
