Question New gaming rig, opinions?

CPU - AMD FX-4300
Motherboard - ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS AM3+
Video Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti SC
RAM - Kingston Hyper X Blu 8GB
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 500 GB
Case - Custom case
Power Supply - 750w can't remember model
Optical Drive - Samsung 24x SATA DVD RW

So this is what I decided to go with since my price range is 4-500 right now. I really only want a new rig for ESO and day z mainly. So I think what I picked is more than perfect for what I want. Anyone have any opinions? The only thing I don't like all that much is the motherboard but that's not a terribly expensive upgrade when I need to in the future.

Anyways thanks guy

Ive had better luck parring intel chips with nvidia cards. If i were going AMD CPU I would go ATI card. However, would go with an intel chip anyway [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Spring a few more buck and step up to an i7 IMO.

I was thinking about an i5, but pretty sure I would I would need a different motherboard all together for either. If I upgrade it will probably be near the end of summer. Can I ask why you are partial to intel? I don't know much about today's hard ware.

Also as a note, I have a bad experience with ATI so probably won't ever get one again.

There is nothing wrong with the choices, but there are a few points you can min max at.

Despite all efforts Amd is still behind the ball on cpu technology and it shows in pricing. a 3570k the all in name replacement for the 2500k is a great chip. It is worth the pricing difference, and as this is a change in motherboard as well not something you will be upgrading easily in a few months.

Other then that, you are short changing your self by not buying a 1tb hard drive. 1tb drives are the new standard, and I wouldn't doubt the jump is only going to cost you an extra ten dollars.

Edit. I just noticed the EVGA branding on your GPU choice. I love EVGA and I was forced to use their custom water blocked cards for a while until someone manufactured their own, with that said. You are paying extra for the name. I doubt it is much, but you can save a few bucks by picking up a reference model card. I doubt you will notice the difference in your gaming.

Edit again. You do not need a 750w PSU. Buy a good quality and named 80+ 550w bronze PSU and save some coin. You will not get a modular PSU at a lower price point so cable management will be a bit more a pain. And if you do not believe me, I implore you to do the research. Everyone always overbuys on PSU and it is a shame.

The power supply is free from a friend and so is the case. It's why I decided to go with the 750 instead of 550. I also already have a TB external HDD so no need to get another.

@bighurb not sure if you are askin me or not but my display is a 42' flat screen TV.

I think you have made your choices to the budget set forth then. AMD Cpu and Gpu are the cheapest routes. Find a way to go intel though, it is worth it.

What motherboard and processor would you recommend with the parts that I ordered if I replaced them? I might just get new ones next month if I can find a buyer for the ones I have now. Is it really worth it though? I mean tbh I spend most my time on EQ and Civ V.

There are a few others I play like Diablo III and sky rim and my wayyyy outdated PC plays those perfect so I figured this setup would blow me away nearly
