yeah, Ubuntu is insanely bloated now, but i have a sense of weird brand loyalty to it though back in like 2002 when i first wanted to get into Linux i couldn't get Redhat or the other popular one installed and Ubuntu was relatively new and was the one that just fucking worked

when me and a friend got into Wardriving we used Puppy Linux cause like the entire OS runs completely in RAM and was insanely fast and we just installed Kali linux stuff on it
>Initial release: 0.1/ 19 June 2003; 21 years ago

and Arch users were always fucking dicks about everything and anything on /g/, especially gatekeeping people from using/installing their distro. fuck them and fuck arch, not gonna switch to it now that they've finally made the install process not terrible on purpose.

Wow. Thats crap as many YTers extoll its use as an excellent choice for gamers. That we need.

No wonder so many clueless (not their fault) windows users say linux is a gatekept leet town.

Just so yas know. Ive never encountered that.
Maybe manjaro forums are less hostile to the newb. Afterallit is slatted qs a newbie friendly but poweruser distro.

Maybe its time to evolve, and leave that toxic shit behind. Except for fun of course.
Information and knowlege comes from a place of equality.

also, apparently linux Nvidia drivers are still fucked, 25 years later. glad it wasn't just me being stupid trying to get CUDA to work with my local LLM correctly

I watched some recent benchmark and there's still a noticeable handicap on Nvidia cards. The OS is not using their full power.

How is this fad that died in 1983 still going on?

I'm surprised Ubuntu is still pretty high up there, I thought it was pretty disliked for the Snap pack system along with some other decisions Canonical made over the years.
