i only seen a few episodes of WW.

i saw the one in season 2 where the big "war" that was built up for like 12 eps finally happens. it was literally dudes marching forward in lines with P90s. like, not 1 drone, not 1 rifle. i prefer Anime to this Jewish-marijuana art
*Space Baklava* art lol.

My friend showed me Akira, Wicked City and Ninja Scroll around 11 years old. That was early 90's and it was cool at the time because we had nothing like that in the USA. Our cartoon were not violent in the same manner nor did they dip into adult themes which was different and exciting for a kid. So yeah you could say I was fan of sorts then. But no, not now. Not for 20 years.

I am aware of Initial D from car forums and one of the youtube guys i watch from time to time did a special on Black Lagoon.

Does Aeon Flux count? I seen that on Liquid Television.

Correction, We had Heavy Metal Rated R. My roommates liked it but I wasn't into that art style so much then.

The Japanese obviously put sweat and tears into their animations.

I admire anyone who has passion like that.

But holy shit, I have never met an anime that wasn't batshit crazy with the story.

Can they try to be normal?
Honest to God, if you tell me about some of the stuff you like in movies, series, books, etc, I can and will do my best to find you a down to earth, rounded show you might like to hopefully help with that issue you've encountered with too many anime. Sometimes you have to sift through all the junk to get to the gold, and it shouldn't be like that, but it is. Thankfully dweebs like myself have done it for you! ;D

I know there's slightly normal themes out there. I liked Cowboy Bebop. When I was a teen I worked late and would watch Adult Swim because it had a chill vibe and I'd watch Cowboy Bebop. I remember liking the intro and the dog.

I am admittedly shallow and sometimes vain.

If I have an opportunity to look better, I'm taking it.
