In response to the first thing: Secrets stepped down.

To the lot of stuff you said: If Uth wasn't such a hard ass he would get sucked into hours of *debates* where people would try to nickle and dime him. Which would then quickly burn him out. I prefer a hard-ass decision that he doesn't have to dwell on. That let's him not have to lose sleep over a decision made in a damn game where 30-something yr olds act like 9 year olds.

With Uth if you act as an adult he will treat you as such(because the only time you will interact with him is when he is bored and out poaching fun by changing people into diff models.)

See you on P99Red maybe. And you can beat me up there.
Nothing wrong with a hard-ass decision, but you can do it without insulting your playerbase and banning people without reason.

I don't think Uthgaardt would want to be a gm on the red server where the players actually lashout back at GM corruption, the blue server players are just little bitches so uthgaardt bullies them.

Boo fucking hoo. A guy that spends the majority of his time here trying to piss people off got banned? Oh noez. But why does he care? They're just pixels. Sounds like someone got crossed over like a bluebie. (Am I doing it right?)

Uthgaard is the man. If you have a problem with him, it's because you either break the rules or you're too much of an impatient nerd-rager to go through a mature process of getting a poor decision reversed. From personal experience, the guy is responsive and extremely helpful. Granted, if you're a douche, then he's the last guy you want attention from. But that's what a GM should be. The vast majority of the server is not comprised of exploiters and griefers. So if the patience with those players is thin, well... that's not really the worst thing in the world. Follow the rules, don't be a douche, and you'll never have a problem with Uthgaard that can't be resolved with a logical argument.

If he was a GM for game that generates revenue, he would have been fired ages ago if he pulled the same shit.

That's horseshit. There are times where uthgaard spends literally like 20 hours in a row resolving petitions and fixing bugs. To my knowledge the massive faction and spell file overhauls were all done by him, in addition to numerous other fixes (Go here: http://www.project1999.org/ and do ctrl+f for "Uthgaard" if you want to see what I'm talking about). That takes an insane amount of work. Honestly I would have no problem giving him carte blanche to ban whoever he wants after doing that amount of work - but that's not even what he does. In the majority of cases the people he bans prove that they were not mature enough to stay on this server (a) by whining about it endlessly after their ban or (b) going to the FOH forums to do the same or (c) not using the correct channels to resolve their disputes. In other cases these people can absolve themselves if they can calm down for a few seconds and not act like total pricks towards the staff. The biggest dispute I ever had with him was resolved just fine after I acted politely and civilly and used the Petitions/Exploits forums. I'm sorry you and your FOH buddies don't get the privilege of being able to publicly bitch about your grievances, but guess what, that privilege is available to no one, so you're asking for GM favouritism if you want to be able to do that.

The amount of crying over Salty being banned is pathetic - seriously, man up. If anything he should have been banned earlier. While I can't confirm the numerous accusations I've heard of him cheating, multiboxing, etc., I can confirm what I saw in my own limited interactions with him where he trained 2 sand giants on a group of people over a petty camp dispute. Seriously, who does that? I think it should tell you something that only 10 seconds after I met him I already had a bad impression of him.

But he's not.

The job of a GM in a game that generates revenue is to appease any and all customers. You don't alienate your revenue sources. You solve issues and make everyone happy. Which is what led to the destruction of EQ Live. The job of a GM for a free game is to protect the server's best interests. To that end, a single dissatisfied douche is not a huge concern. Even a dozen dissatisfied douches are not a significant concern. It's a server of nearly 2,000 active players (as evidenced by populations of ~1500 around Kunark's release).
