I've had ports from three different DAP members and it seemed that all they cared about was just getting paid, almost like a whore.

Each port, I paid 30p and even before the trade was over, we were already porting to my destination. As soon as we zoned in, it was not even mere seconds later that they were kicking me out of the group and zoning out. They didn't say a word the whole time and not that I cared but not even an offer of a SOW or any other buffs.

I'm sure they are nice people but it feels like they don't care or give a damn about who they port but as long as they get paid. Hell, at least lie to me and say thanks...

When i port i try get people ported to their destination asap because lots of times they are late for a raid of have a group waiting on them. That being said you should get a sow without even having to ask.

Also i always /make the portee the leader and disband so im not kicking a guy that just gave me money.

A lot of these folks spend hours porting random people to random places. For prophit, not out of the goodness of their hearts. A lot of times they have people queued up waiting for ports after you. It becomes mechanic. And the faster they get to your next port, the more ports they can do. So that extra few seconds high fiving and whatnot decrease efficiency. Less efficiency = less profit. Just like in the real world.

However, From the DaP porter's perspective they often have multiple people waiting for them at assorted places waiting to be taken to assorted places. They also may have ongoing tells with people asking questions or asking for a port.

Maybe I'm on at the wrong times but there has been many times I'll be sitting in the tunnel or sitting at the WC Druid rings and I'll see at least 2-3 DAP members sitting around, waiting for customers. The whole time they are using /ooc to promote they are porting.

I don't believe EQ is that busy that there are people sitting around, waiting for DAP members to pick them up and DAP is using the excuse that the day is so busy and everyone wants a port.

DAP can run their "business" however they want to run it but I'm just saying that out of the three times I have used their "service." I never received the courtesy of being a treated as a paying "customer."

Overall I've had good experiences with DaP. Only once, that I recall, did I have an issue. It was long ago and I've forgotten who it was. I was still new and asked for a port from EC to Toxx. He replied "30pp". I had just didn't almost all my money on a new sword and only had about 10-20pp left. I then sent a tell to a random wizard in zone and he ported me for free.

They are basically contract workers of Norrath. If you find their "service" so deplorable just avoid using them?

Long story;

With that being said, they are indeed so busy at times where they have to put /anon up to stop the tells from coming in otherwise they start to lose track of who is wanting what.

Sure, there are times when you might see 5-10 DaP on at one time, then there are other moments when you do "/who all dial" and there is literally 1 or 2 people on, and sometimes even none.

I honestly believe the number of satisfied customers outweigh the number of unhappy people who feel they are not being given their proper due service by a porting druid/wizard of DaP.

I think it's funny people cry about not being treated like the king and queens they feel they are by DaP players.

Give your tip, get your port, and get the hell out of the group so the DaP porter can help others who need ports just like you do. Or, get booted out of the group, that works too.

Generally I port noobs for 5p or even free and I'm content with it, but it's fun to watch level 60's drop all their gear into the inventory and ask for a CR port. I used to imitate gating away while in fact using Hide skill and watch the said guy put his armor on right away :P

So it goes both ways, yes you might sometimes find a rude player in DaP (and generally try to deal with it within guild when it goes overboard), but don't forget we don't port for tips, but rather provide a paid service.

I once saw someone in EC charging 20pp to bind in freeport. Seems kinda ridiculous to me.
