You speak as if something amazing is on the horizon. When is a more classic project coming online? Is there even one in the works?
I'd provide links and such.. but its a bannable offense here for some reason. but yes.. perfect absolutely 100% classic projects are in the works (and some nearing completion)

cant do it here because we cant do it there.

really tho dude, look at the attitude a lot of people take in their interactions with the staff. they act like spoiled ungrateful children always screaming "gimmie gimmie gimmie, omg favoritism omg." i personally, have never had one unpleasant encounter with a gm. i make my petitions as polite and accurate as possible and am humble and respectful of their decisions. some times things have went my way sometimes they havent. but i have always been treated fairly and with respect. would you like to know, why? because thats how i treat them. its not some magic concept... you know, respect.

I don't want to criticize the staff here (even if constructive) but you would be right that one problem on the server is that it is too filled with drama and trolling.

your words mean very little to me and barely warrant a response, but here it goes:

is this the most classic server a person can find: yes
are you playing on it for free: yes
is the server still fun for 99% of the people that play on it: yes
do the staff owe you an explanation about anything: no

like i said before, play on this server or dont. if you dont then move on and stop shitting it up for the people that still enjoy it here
You're certainly taking the silver lining view and I understand that you'd like everything to be nice and pretty and fine. However, regardless of how you feel and what you post, people have a right to question, to be upset, to feel betrayed or whatever else they may be feeling at the moment. I am not saying they have a right to answers and I doubt they'll ever get them,, but they do have a right to be upset.

Along with your sunny view, here are a couple of other items to digest
  1. Not everyone was playing for free
  2. A fair number of people were getting banned for allegedly RMTing, allegedly two-boxing and allegedly doing a lot of things
  3. The "staff" (by "staff" I do NOT mean everyone on staff) were taking money from these people to get their accounts unbanned. People who may or may not have been guilty of their alleged crimes
  4. People who so wanted to play on this "free" server, they paid to do so
  5. even makes me wonder if people paid to get IP exemptions (just a thought, not saying this is fact)
  6. The "staff" were in fact doing exactly (RMT) what they were banning others (RMT) for doing (and not banning others (RMT) for doing....)
  7. So this alleged staff member and their faster than fast ban hammer (ban first, let the innocent prove their innocence) was a farce.
  8. The server can and probably is still fun for the majority that play. That majority can have fun and still disagree with aspects of what has happened. They can still be upset

Well, it's been said over and over again that this "other project" will be great and many are waiting for it. In fact, I believe that the reason this server was started was because the administrators got tired of waiting for the other project to come to fruition themselves so they took the initiatve to start their own. I've been following this "other project" since 2007. They aren't even near beta. People can knock this server for not being 100% classic, but it's the most viable option at this point in time.

I think thats the reason this server has the population it has at the moment as well. The wait for the perfect server can take a while heh.

I think this is a good metaphor "There are two ways to restore a classic car with rare parts. You can restore the body of the car and make it look stock and then put a modern engine, suspension and exhaust on it (P99). The other option is to restore the body, like in the original, but, because the original engine and mechanical parts are no longer made, you get ahold of the blueprints and machine the parts by hand or find old parts and restore them by hand. (other project)"

Probably because I've been asleep and I seem to be the only person around here with moderator powers that does anything.

So many misconceptions here it's ridiculous, you'd think the name of this website changed to foh.

Don't think they have enough support staff on the team. their response, you aren't allowed to complain because its free.
Pretty sure that I've never flat out responded to any valid criticism with "stfu its free", but only possibly as an argument to reinforce that we do the best we can do under the circumstances that we work during our free time. What you see is the community sticking up for us when the trolls hit the boards in force, because they also understand it.

No, it isn't. What gave you that idea? You're mixing the two websites up. The project you are speaking of is in fact the one that instantly deletes and bans for any mention of other projects. If you ever thought any of our mild moderating policies were bad you have another thing coming over there.

There have been projects and companies all over the world that have run into issues like the ones recent or even the ones that have happened over the last several years here, what is important is that the situations are handled.

If you are saying that Me, Nilbog, or Sirken are corrupt, then I urge you to please PM proper evidence to support your claims to the appropriate person. Those are the three people right now that have the majority of access to this server. Otherwise, I hope you understand that situations are being handled, and we will move on.
