Really fun!
couple of things: 1. All forms of mez are bugged. After mez wears off, the target cannot cast spells for between 20 seconds and a couple of minutes afterwards. Extremely annoying, because if a chanter gets one mez off on a caster, they're out of the fight for a couple of minutes, regardless of the duration of mez. 2. Necro nuke that turns you into skeleton form is permanent, you don't turn back.

Feedback:
1. Melee damage is borked, but this is a well known issue. I was barely doing damage to Abacab who was naked. 2. I would get the message that I had died in a valiant struggle and then not be ported back to base immediately. I could still run around and hit people when I was supposedly dead. 3. Buffs do not always wipe upon death. 4. Mez is bugged/overpowered as stated by Pyrocat. 5. Blind seems to be a little overpowered as well. A couple of shaman/paladin's could keep lots of people perma-blinded. 6. Line of Sight wasn't working correctly. For instance hiding behind a huge boulder didn't block LoS on an enemies snare. Suggestions: 1. Team specific chat channels would be nice. 2. Add a drop command for flag/goblin carrier.

As to the blind feedback: blind was always overpowered in PVP. I used to constantly lose duels with my paladin friend because he would spam blind and I had no MR gear. This makes getting resist gear and buffs extremely important, as it should be in PVP. Blind also adds an element of strategy, for casters at least. Whenever I got blinded I had to remember what spells were in what slots so I could ALT-12345 .etc to cast them. If I wasn't sure who my target was, I would hit escape and hope they were attacking me so that I would auto target them, then spam blind/dot/root .etc then tab back to myself for heals. It also makes having your sound on a necessary strategy.

Greatly increase mana and hp regen while sitting for x amount of time. Right now it is better to die to get fm than wait 10 minutes meding.
Add a map with starting areas and default flag locations labeled.

Not so much feedback, as a question. Once all this pvp testing is complete, is it going to be common practice to have events using non-classic mechanics in non-classic zones on a classic server?
Just wondering, because I'm a little confused about that.

It's not like they are being FORCED to ruin their classic experience. This is completely voluntary. so what is wrong with having this? this doesnt affect the normal playstyle of the server at all, it doesnt give you any bonus or anythin, so wtf..

And I'll elaborate on that question further. Is the longterm goal of P99 to emulate Everquest pre-Luclin? Or to emulate World of Warcraft? Again, I'm just asking, so save the rage for your pvp opponents.

Hey
First of all, thanks alot for trying to put in pvp at all, some of us played on PVP servers on live, so that was our classic experience. This is great. Things ive read in this thread i agree on: "Suicide; people suiciding for 100% mana/health, maybe on death there may be a 30s timer before respawn? Yes I used this to my full advantage." You also have to gauge stuff about death you shouldnt, like if i kill this guy, will he spawn back at zone full health and stop my team from stealing flag? Granted he will spawn at some point but death should be more of a penalty than right now. "level difference and gear" This is one thing that was harsh and possibly not a good thing at all, is that someone alot higher than you is basically unkillable in EQ. People bitch about WoW but thats one thing they got right, killing a 52 hunter who got cocky and took a few people at once with my 27 priest was something that hooked me to WoW pvp on the spot. Not sure what you can do to fix that, or at least minimize it, if there is a will/time for it. "Dungeon like zones" Last friday someone suggested this in-game to play on smaller maps when pop is lower. Would also be nice to not be playing the same map all the time. Im not sure how hard that chore is though, and how much time you devs have to devote to it vs. dealing with all the other stuff. All that work load brings me to my next point: ------------------------- Heres my suggestion for bringing EQ classic pvp to those who want it, while leaving others who dont to not do it: Make reds be able to group with blues (im assuming they cant, just like on live, which is the main reason why no one went red). WoW battlegrounds killed wow pvp for me. Because it restricts the pvp to 3 zones. There is like 20 zones, with a gigantor amount of ambush spots, hiding spots and buildings etc etc, and you are funneling players into only 3 zones [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] (Im not bitching about the CTF just to be clear, just making a point about how fun server-wide pvp is, i totally understand pvp on p99 is in beta form and im glad it is available, at all) Its the same in EQ. pvping in Gfay on platforms was just epic, same went for crushbone, runnyeye, WC, all the zones were available to pvp in. Bonus points? You dont have to code anything beside reds being able to group with blues. The only thing that blues would have to decide is do we want the trouble of having a red in group? Granted no would be the answer alot of times but it would help kick off server-wide pvp i think, with what seems to be a smallish load of work for you devs and at the same time pve players can stick to pve. Win-win. Another way of doing this would be to let guilds war dec each other. I can totally see entire alt guilds devoted to pvping. Leveling a character while you have to watch your back all the time is something you dont get from put-put-ing it on PVE, its a constant rush of adrenaline to be walking around, watching the /who channel to see if your arch-enemy doesnt pop in zone. Im not sure what the decision would be lvl wise if you would try to get this to work, but on the vallon emu its 8 lvls, and it seems a reasonable decision to me, on Rallos it was 4 and sometimes it felt a bit restricted.

Especially when the named with the phat lewt spawns. And your red cleric can't heal the tank because a red necro just dotted and sic'd his pet on him. And your entire group wipes because of it, and you can't do a single thing about it because you are blue. OMG that would be so thrilling and fun. [You must be logged in to view images.
