If this server wasn't full of 40 year olds trying to relive a coke-like high they had 20 years ago, instead of actually just enjoying their real life, I would say absolutely help out #1.

But no, 95% of the server are snaggletooths who get offended by anything that is not in their 100% interest, 100% of the time. Helping out somebody wastes precious pixel-seconds.
