After you are the weight you want to be you eat more like 1800-2000 calories -- but the same kind of diet.
Just want to point out:

1) double check all the numbers I give you for age/height etc

2) that number is for people that basically ran on the tredmil and are skinny now and dont want to be fat again. Muscular people that are gaining more muscle eat more. They tend to eat something like 3500 calories (in 30s) with lots of protein.

So if you have a love of eating, building muscle is your best path to eating a lot and being healthy at the same time.

Pokesan you're so ignorant in this matter I'm stunned. Look into Vitamin K2, which is in grass-fed butter. Look into the health benefits of Vitamin K2 for your arteries.

Christ... I hope I don't have to spell this out for you

I have a question tho... I live in Japan right. And EVERYONE eats wheat, and flour, and every bad thing that was mentioned in this thread, and everyone is absolutely thin and tiny and sexy as hell.

I also happen to be born French, and we French people eat a loooot of cheese, bread, alcohol and everything you say is bad... and they're still mostly thin and small (and not so sexy but hey we can't have everything!)

Are American a different species? What's up with you guys? I see all these diets and advice and how to eat, and carbs this, calorie that, bad fat, good fat... why does every person talking about these things and knowing all these terms are always fat and everyone around me that is thin doesn't know shit about them ><

I realize my post is a bit condescending but it's a pain to rewrite it on my cell lol - however I want to conclude by saying it is actually a legit question... like I don't understand this whole trend of eating healthy and analysing everything that goes in your stomach when you see the countries where it is the most popular are the fattest countries and countries where nobody gives a fuck are the thinnest countries... what's going on?
fat distribution and size of fat cells and amount of fat storage is genetic.

I don't take her word for it that no one ever thinks or gives a shit about health in France. I think they have more competent ministers in France that keep the school food better quality. And their parents have better portion control (that makes it so a lot of borderline cases don't get fat) and eat waaay less processed garbarge like Kraft dinner. As for Japan...lots of ectomorphs there and lots of exercise in their culture of health (which is a thing). Lots of fish, "super seniors"...I'm not all that surprised they aren't fat.

Some people are dealt a rough hand..the vast vast majority of very overweight people reading this can get within healthy BMI. The only difference between them and other people is how much crap food they get away with. For them: very little or zero.

And by crap food I mean stuff like sugar and carbs with no fiber in it and ridiculously large loads of fat. Because they overeat for their activity level and body type in the past -- they have to stay on restriction of calories to lose excess fat.

It works for damn near everyone. Unless you have a hole a stomach or are some 1/100,000 case or whatever. Even then I'm guessing its just a matter of addressing some health problem before you can get back on the path if you wanted.

So start wanting it.

My big fat college roommate used to keep a spray bottle full of melted butter on his desk and occasionally spray it in his mouth while he played games.

I knew he was onto some new health craze.

See what pisses me off is your college roommate can look like that fucking Orc warrior he is playing in WoW right now -- and doesn't know it. All he has to do is get on diet and sign up for one of those college weight training courses. Perfect way to learn the basics and enforce a work out schedule.

But instead he's going to come to some forum like this and bitch about his body type, genetics, and childhood. In its partly society's fault for allowing this kind of shit to continue.

A) Americans are way more sedentary than the Japanese or French
B) Americans eat huge portions
C) Americans snack a lot between meals
D) American foods have tons of added sugar
E) Americans eat a lot of calorie-rich convenience food (eg. McDonald's)
