I liked original EQ because friends were made in a zone and you could carry on somewhat-meaningful discussions with a smallish number of people in zone.

If I wanted to try and slip conversation in between 30 "wts" and spammy retard crap in a global channel, I'd go back to WoW.

We're here to play Classic EQ, not Classic EQ + a few conveniences. Because once we start down that path, we end up with mercenaries and instant ports anywhere in the world and KEI bots and... well, you get the idea.

A lot of people are joining, too. My old Tholuxe Paells community boards were informed of the project, I'm sure a few new signups came about because of that.

And I just made a post on Kotaku about it, that'll probably get it some notice as well.

Look at it this way folks. You knew global would not be permanent coming in, so first there is no reason to complain either way. Second, you don't and are not forced to pay anything therefore you really have no say. I mean it's totally unfair for someone tell you how to play the game they support, program, fix and run completely free of charge? A true travesty!
