Duplicating the server and allowing people to transfer would just result in the same thing happening on the other server.
I would like a new start from scratch server, with trivial loot code and relaxed no drop rules like we had on Firiona Vie but I know Im in the minority. I'd be prepared to pay a subscription for it too but I can't do that either. I'm shit out of luck in regards to a decent mmo but I can't do anything about that either sob.

As a completely new member of this server, I am fiercely opposed to this idea. I too wish I'd discovered this project two years ago when it was new and had the chance to experience it from the beginning. And if I stick it out, or keep track of it, I still may in the future as they'd mentioned starting over from the beginning after Velious is played out.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I personally know that server health is an important aspect of me joining and sticking it out. A buddy launched an EQ emu a few years back with about 12 people playing. I did not participate, since I'd find it boring and stagnant. Even though I wish we'd see over 1000 players here, I enjoy that this is the largest population I've ever played with on an EQ emu yet. It's an attractive feature to new members like myself. Had I heard about the project and saw 75-150 spread across on two servers, I probably would have skipped it. I'm not saying "don't suggest ideas that I'll disagree with" because the OP has every right to throw out what he thinks would help. What I am saying is that I am not 60, not in TMO, and not worried about losing my top position because of another server opening. I'm a level 12 bard with 100p to my name who does not want to lose half the current population, or join half somewhere else. Lets keep it all under one roof!

I would like to explore your special zones.

Without wanting to be an asshat, P99 red is an example in a way...if that had a similar population I'd certainly have got more involved with it.

EQ mac is an example, and the mechanics on that server are actually more classic than anything here.
Aggro is classic there, mobs running at low health is classic (we are spoiled by this, snare is like a requirement there, zones like seb or karnors are even more insane and full of trains)

This idea is bad.
The only thing I want to know is if velious is being worked on, if we are going to see it. I never got to play kunark and velious on live and from what I'm hearing Velious is the fucking best thing since sliced bread. I just want to know if velious and all that are still in production or if the gm's have all but given up on the server. I just want to know whats going on

IMO simulated patch days would do more for server health than a second server.
But we can also all agree that this server is top-heavy due to the slower release schedule (not a dev jab, they have real lives and this is (should be) a hobby). As was already mentioned, a fresh newbie on P99 could be 60 before Velious gets released, which just did not happen on Live.

I have too much fun leveling up all of my characters and enjoying the online community to care about how top heavy the end game may be. Splitting this servers population would be insanely stupid. I love Everquest and this is the closest thing i've had to reliving my first EQ experiences and expanding upon them.
