Okay so some people use it like normal human beings.

Then others join it and start pissing wars, spam, racism etc that drives the pop down.
Uhm "/ignore randomtroll#73" ?

Not that hard to type /ignore d00d.

Not all of us have huge guilds to communicate with and the newbie areas being ghost towns it hurts new players more then some trolling in /ooc.

I almost quit the server my second day because it was a slow couple days for server pop and I didn't see more then like 2 people on my way to level 5.

If there would have been global /ooc at least I would've known people were playing and interacting with each other.

Players shouldn't have to disable a native feature of the game, for no other reason than people saying they should.

Palemoon is right. When global ooc went away on p99, so did all the global spammers. People named iIIIIIIIILILILll spamming dick stories wastes staff time.
I understand not wanting to put in the effort for something that might actually do more harm than good, and I also understand the general public bounces from topic to topic thinking the server would be saved if only this happened.

But, back to topic with global /ooc

1) Level requirement to post to global ooc.

If you have to be level 15+ to post in global ooc then it would get rid of the people with whack names spamming. If they were doing this after being level 15+ it wouldn't be a waste of time for a gm to just get rid of these jackasses at that point.

2) Keeping regular /ooc and global ooc (maybe /gooc) separate would allow people to put the conversations in different chat windows and organize it the way they like. If you customized it right it shouldn't hurt if it scrolled a lot.

@ Nilbog

Did people really complain about spammers in global /ooc?

Type /ignore to avoid annoying people.

I really appreciate the project and don't mean to seem ungrateful because I'm not, but is there maybe a compromise where we could give it a trial run for a week or 2?

I hope I don't come off like an asshole, but people are lazy and it's very difficult to find ways to get us all on the same page without global /ooc.

Use /shout for zonewide and /ooc for global imo.

It is so goddamn simple i don't get how it is not in game. Ghost town feeling hurts server sooooo much worse than HEY ****** SUCK MY DICK. They are going to get ****** dicked eventually in pvp anyways so if it upsets the weak stomached than consider them gone at some point. Hell even yellowtext, seeing that people are out there fighting, is super motivating to the lonley newb.

Operation Ninja- Add global ooc, save the server!

Person enables global chat lfg.

Sees constant fighting, spam, vulgarity, racism.

Rather than /ignore they /quit.

Now, I can tolerate all those things and am fine with it. Your run of the mill person may be turned off and leave.

(Not likely)

(Very likely)

Also would be nice to see some shit talking to entertain me, instead of alt+tabbing to bad forum threads imo.
