Adding to the controversy of this shooting is the disparity in medical treatment -- the wounded police dog received an emergency helicopter airlift from the scene to a veterinary center (where it died later) -- while Brunston, who was alive and moving after being shot 22 times, was left bleeding to death on the concrete steps, leading to allegations of Brunston receiving sub-par treatment as compared to the dog

Why would they send the dog like that, just a dumb move, or is that protocol?

If a situation escalates to the point where lethal force is involved police are trained to completely empty their magazines. The guy is a shit head, and got what he deserved. If you were a cop and someone pulled a gun on you, are you going to shoot him once and hope he decides to give it up, or are you going to unload everything you've got in the interest of self preservation?

The wiki said that they had a K-9 unit who refused to release the dog because it was against protocol, so they sent him away and brought in a rookie who just followed orders.

That's pretty fucked up, but then again so is our society in general.

Yeah they could have handled the situation a little differently but what the fuck do you expect when he throws out a gun and starts to shoot.

People want to go home to see their wife and kids- This dumbass bit the bullet literally and really? who gives a fuck. Sounds harsh but I work in a hospital and see people die on a daily basis who want to live.- This idiot didn't care about his own life. He said it multiple times "shoot me" "shoot me".
This is natural selection at it's finest.- Horray
Some of you may troll me but I guess im a cold-hearted bastard

It wasn't a gun it was a sandal (and it definitely wasn't shooting) and he dropped it when the dog came for him. If they hadn't been so trigger-happy, that would have been the end of it.

If you were the police- would you take that type of chance? I think not. Given the same situation you would have done the same thing.
