I learned quickly don't ask for wishes, you'd get them instantly, behind every bush! But wording those wishes took FOREVER and he'd fork us every time. Fireballs in dungeons are bad. Approach water with caution. Stealing dice and lighters was acceptable. Leaving the table setup to play for weeks was the norm.

We've still got our books & dice tho we haven't played in years now, everyone scattered to the winds over the years. I miss the fun and companionship of those house parties, we had a blast.

Great thread!

Of course, it was really about collecting stacks of books and bags of dice. I kept mine (dozens of them, of course) in an old Crown Royal bag, and it's still kicking around the house, somewhere.

And maps - definitely all about the maps. A friend of mine (the DM in my playing adventures) had a mad talent for cartography, and was hand drawing professional caliber stuff for years.

Ahh, I'm getting all warm and glowwy - although that could be the expresso. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I played AD&D and basic starting way back, quit when @nd came out, came back for 3rd, and played LG and now LFR. I also play Pathfinder RPG.

It is all D&D.

I organize conventions in Florida, for campaign play.

i got my twelve sided die and im ready to roll with a wizard and my goblin crew,
my friends are comin over to my moms basement bringin funyuns and the mountain dew,
i got a big broad sword made out of cardboard and that stereo's a-pumpin zeppelin,
its that time of the night we turn on the black light let the dungeons and the dragons begin,
it's d&d!
fighting with the legends of yore.
it's d&d!
never kissed lady before (nope).
now the lord of the rings the dark crystal and things,
we use these as a reference tool,
and when we put on our cloaks and tell warlock jokes we're the coolest kids in the school...

no we're not
i know

now tiche's a real bastard but a fair dungeon master,
he's got hit points and charisma to lend,
i rehearse in my room or what i call the dragons tomb when im not im with my girlfriend,
its d&d...wait...

youve got a girlfriend?
yeah. yeah...no.

its d&d!
warriors that terrify.
its d&d!
virgins til the day we...

1,2,3,4!

die!
