New p99 server

Anyone saying "merge but no new server" doesn't understand that the mission statement has and still is 'Merge Green into Blue thus freeing up the server Green was on to start again as Green 2.0'.

you might think you want a new server but you dont
its basically 2 weeks of feeling fresh and new but after that things start becoming streamlined. and after a month or so its basically what you have now

I want a server that wipes completely every 3 to 6 months. And with all the experience penalties and slow leveling put back.

Sure, it's been a long time.

Though it has been proven on multiple occasions that time doesn't really matter when you're considering Nilbog and Rogean. They still keep creating fixes and patching things that have happened earlier in the timeline. If they had no intention of merging the servers and launching a new one, those changes would be completely irrelevant.

The only logical conclusion is, since we have had no word whatsoever that their mission statement and goals have changed, that they're proceeding with the plan and eventually they will be merging Green into Blue and launching 'Green 2.0' (I expect it to have a different color as the name).

Every 3-6 months would be crazy, considering people want to avoid wipes after multiple years.. Every two years would be fantastic.

Two years wouldn't even get us through the full timeline (it would take us from March '99 to March '01 ... but P99 goes up to October '01). Plus, even stopping in October would be too soon, because no one would have time to play the character they leveled in Stonebrunt, to win the goblin rolls for a SWC, or to farm the revamped Chardok.

Really, something like three years is the perfect server length, and such a length would also be classic: on live it's not like people just stopped doing classic/Kunark/Velious content the moment Luclin dropped. Classic content was enjoyed long after Luclin dropped.

BTW, the people making P99 have a similar opinion (emphasis added):

The most logical time to commit to the end of the server in the progression timeline would be the release date of the next expansion. Looks like from original day 1 release of EQ until shadows of luclin dropped was roughly 2.75 years.
